Road is not advised for RVs, trailers or vehicles with very low clearance. The road is 13 miles long. It is paved for the first 6 miles north of Chester Hwy 36then rough gravel and dirt for the remaining 7 miles. Snow depths are updated when there is a significant change. Call for the most up-to-date information.

The park has received very limited precipitation this fall. There is snow in the park at this time. The park highway and roads are all open and snow free. All trails in the park are snow free.
Bumpass Hell Trail is the only trail closure in the park at this time. View the Day Hiking page for more details on hiking in the park. This final closure usually occurs over a period of a few days to two weeks as park manager assess forecasts and conditions.
Be aware of and prepared for changing weather conditions and plan accordingly. A snowstorm can close park roads with little or no notice.
The Loomis Museum is closed for the winter.
See all operating hours and seasons. Food service is limited between November and May. Lassen Cafe and Gift is open 11 am to 2 pm weekends only. Visitors are welcome to enjoy their own meals in the fireside dining area; a microwave is available. The Lassen Association bookstore in the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor is open during visitor center hours.
See above for Gift Shop hours. The Manzanita Lake Campground is open until significant snowfall warrants its closure. The Southwest Walk-in Campground is open year-round.
